  We stayed at the 4816 Seashore Dr location and it was very basic and not user friendly at all. The worst rental we've ever spent money on and we've stayed in Newport for the past 4 years. Not clean and dry crystallized blood was left on the pull out couch mattress pad. The rental was not stocked well and things constantly broke and weren't working. The shower door wouldn't slide and eventually broke, the towels looked like they were dropped in bleach, the Wi-Fi and tv's in the bedrooms didn't work just to start. No help from Nbrentals when I called to complain. Never before have we had to pay a fee for linens ($150 for sheets & towels) and they are nothing special and should have been replaced long ago. The place needs new paint and a deep cleaning. It appears that the owner is not willing to spend any money keeping the place up. We hoped for a classy beach vacation and instead feel as if we wasted our hard earned money. Poor customer service and be prepared to have your problems based on prior renters.

  If Newport Beach Rentals is not associated w/Newport Beach Vacation Properties ( NBVP) nor the management agent for 311 Marigold in Corona del Mar, I apologize in advance, as this review is only about rental agent for the CDM Marigold Ave. property. However, I suspect because of address above they are or were subcontracted in some way.
  The 3 basic tenants of a vacation property vs. hotel is :
  1. Kitchen; they have come to cook for celebrations or budget savings or convenience.
  2. Outdoor living; as customers will be outside as much or more as inside.
  3.Privacy and the ability to feel at home.
  Everyone expects cleanliness, decent bed, heat/cooling, and working order house, room or apt. This is a no-brainer and reviews should not have to be about these issues.
  311 Marigold Ave. was not equipped to be a vacation rental. I had a 60 day rental with no ability to really cook or serve. Huge and wonderful backyard had a lone table&chairs tucked to the side (next to stinky garbage cans) and no other furniture for reading, sunbathing, gathering friends or "living outdoors". And if I was given, broom, mop or other cleaning maintenance tools for my 60 days, I wouldn't have wanted to sell my soul for a maid. The price was not reflective of the lack of industry standards nor management ability to get the owner to furnish it to vacation rental standards. I could have had a truck bring these things from home but also would have paid 50% less. Then, we have the "cuckoo rules" that the mgt co. should never have allowed. The owners clearly had no idea what they were doing and it is up to the mgt. co to monitor that. Oh, and the owner gets to decide how much I get back in deposit return? The same owner that wants me to keep plastic on bed pillows, no shoes in the house, and clean the floor with only my hand?
  Sanitation: Although newly painted and a vintage 1940's house (which I appreciate more than most) there were rotting garbage cans in the backyard, mosquito nest in the unused fountain, 2 lbs of rodent feces on hot water tank and a 100lb limb that fell onto the center of backyard because it had not been trimmed in years.
  I am a freelance worker and wanted to summer at the beach, not stock the kitchen. I had to buy my own coffee maker, utensils, glasses, platters mop/bucket, dust mop and broom and a list that is beyond shocking. But, because I had paid a small fortune for 60 days rent; I could not face that I had been "taken".
